When our team receives call outs for tree removals, we are generally expected to take a tree away. This case for a recent job in Broadbeach Waters, Tree removal actually meant moving the tree.
As is frequently the case in Gold Coast’s more exclusive suburbs, there is now a lot of houses being renovated or replaced. Though contemporary styling demands that the house be demolished, the same cannot be said about great trees – great trees can’t simply be replaced.
In this particular instance at this lovely home in Broadbeach Waters, our client had worked with the architect to plan and execute the new home plans including the removal of two Pandanus from other positions in the yard. At Tree Essence we love to see trees retained and our team made easy work of moving the two Pandanus with our skid steer forklift, with the benefit of the property being completely cleared so we could move around with ease. At 400kg each, the 3-metre trees and their aerial root system with root balls, we were able to carefully maneuver the trees effectively.
Pandanus are endemic to SE Queensland. They are commonly called Pandanus palm, spring Pandanus or screw palm. This shrub can reach up to 10 metres in height and the Pandanus are usually found growing on coastal areas and dune systems. They also produce a pineapple-like fruit that turns orange-red when ripe. Because of its spiny leaves, some birds use this tree as shelter for protection.
With tree removals, or tree moving, complete our client could move on to building their new home with the benefit of having mature trees form part of their landscape.
