Healthy trees can protect people and buildings. They help stop global warming by reducing the carbon dioxide in the environment and produce oxygen for us to inhale. Trees also provide food for us humans and for herbivores. These are just some of the advantages of trees, but little do we know that trees do have disadvantages, too. Unfortunately and unjustly, these give them a bad name. This incident that occurred in one of Gold Coast’s most scenic suburbs, Tallebudgera Valley, demonstrates the need for us homeowners to regularly maintain trees and even initiate tree removal when necessary.
Recently, a man was reportedly struck and killed on the 26th of November 2018 in Tallebudgera Valley by a falling tree. The victim was said to be a 62-year old man who was cutting down a tree at a remote property along Ducats Rd. Unfortunately, the tree fell on top of him. The rescue team was called at about 10 AM but the man couldn’t be revived.
This unfortunate incident that happened in the suburb of Tallebudgera Valley clearly shows that trees also need some consistent care and maintenance. It is for them to ensure good health, proper growth conditions and to prevent hazardous conditions that may threaten surroundings and the residents of Tallebudgera Valley.
